About Safestamp

About Safe StampSafeStamp is the Caribbean program designed to help safeguard children taking part in sport and physical activity. The program aims to improve protection of children and youth from physical, emotional and sexual abuse, while also protecting the adults working with them.

SafeStamp provides resources and training to the sport, physical education and recreation community and maintains a database of both individuals and organizations that have met the relevant safeguarding criteria.

While there is no guarantee that children will be free from harm in sport and recreation settings, knowing that your child's coach and sport organization have completed safeguarding training and met safeguarding criteria can help make sport safer for children.

Parents and guardians have a responsibility to be vigilant, to involve themselves in the children's sport activities, and to talk to their children about what is and is not appropriate sport-leader and teammate behaviour. They must also listen to any concerns their children have – and act immediately on those concerns.

This website contains a great deal of information to help you find coaches and organizations that meet the SafeStamp criteria as well as general information for parents, coaches and children to help make sport safer for children.

SafeStamp is an initiative of the Caribbean Sport and Development Agency.
